Weather Images in The Public Domain

Public domain weather images are very common. And although you can find public domain images of sunny sunsets and beautiful days, you’ll also find some very interesting images of weather that has gone bad. Consider the Tornado.

This year we’ve been plagued with Tornados and although some would rather forget their experiences with a tornado, public domain images of tornadoes are all over the web…..if you know where to find them. Then, once you locate a public domain tornado, what can you do with it.

Let’s consider some ideas

People are fascinated with Tornadoes in general….so a collection on CD could possibly sell

Find an image of a Tornado that decimated a city or town. Put the image up on a website and offer to send a print to anyone in that town that wanted it. I know that sounds gruesome, but people love history

Tornadoes can be used in posters for a variety of purposes…the first thing that comes to my mind is uncontrollable power….perhaps you could tie that in with an event

And then, maybe you just want to put together a small ebook that discusses the types, shapes and varieties of tornadoes along with our understanding of them…because the text too is in the public domain and can be included in your book. Offer the book to boy scouts, schools, church groups or just anyone who might be interested in observing natures most powerful phenomena.

Much of what I’ve learned has come from Tony Laidig’s book, “The Easy Money Picture Book” which talks all about Public Domain Images and how to use them to develop an income at home…..and who wouldn’t like to make some money at home on your computer
